Atelier Hotel ORU は、織工房に併設されたゲストハウスです。素材である絹、染めと織りの工程、古代から続く普遍的な営み──。観光型のプチ体験ではなく、工房に滞在しながら数日をかけて、本物のモノつくりを丁寧に体感していただく場所です。天領の残り香が漂う日田のまちで、糸と布に向き合う静かな時間をお過ごしください。
Atelier Hotel ORU is a guesthouse attached to a working weaving atelier. Silk as a material, the processes of dyeing and weaving, a universal craft that has continued since antiquity — this is not a quick tourist activity, but a place to stay for several days and experience authentic craftsmanship in depth, in the historic town of Hita.
館内のしつらえには、染めと織りを象徴するものを散りばめました。窓辺に揺れる染め糸、部屋の鍵に結ばれた手織りのタグ。工房に泊まるという特別な時間を、細部からも感じていただけます。
Throughout the house you will find touches that evoke dyeing and weaving — skeins of hand-dyed silk by the windows, hand-woven tags on the room keys. Even the smallest details speak of staying inside an atelier.
本施設の中心は、染めと織りのワークショップです。絹という素材、染色、そして織り。今後は、養蚕農家、染色材の生産者、民芸研究者、哲学者など、染め織りにまつわる多彩なゲストを招いたトークセッションも企画していきたいと考えています。
At the heart of ORU is the weaving workshop: silk as a material, dyeing, and weaving. Looking ahead, we also hope to host talk sessions with sericulture farmers, dye producers, folk-craft researchers and philosophers — the many people behind the cloth.

ゲストハウスは、工房でワークショップを受講される方にぴったりの宿です。深く学ぶには、長い滞在時間がいちばんの近道。もちろん、受講されない方のご宿泊も歓迎します──工房をちょっと見学するだけでも大丈夫。古民家リノベーションの魅力を湛えたシンプルで清潔な空間が、日田での滞在を静かに支えます。
The guesthouse is a perfect base for workshop participants — to learn deeply, there is no substitute for time. Guests not taking a workshop are just as welcome, even if you only stop in for a look at the atelier. Simple, clean rooms in a renovated traditional house quietly support your stay in Hita.
い草の香る、畳敷きの和室。障子ごしのやわらかな光に包まれ、床の間には工房で織り上げた布を掛けて。白いタイルに小鹿田焼の鉢をあしらった明るい洗面を備えています。布団でおやすみいただく、静かでまっすぐな和の間です。
A tatami room fragrant with rush grass. Soft light filters through shoji screens, and a cloth woven in our atelier hangs in the alcove. The bright washroom pairs white tile with an Onta-ware basin. Sleep on futon in a calm, honest Japanese space.
日田杉の小上がりに、ふかふかの布団を敷いて。枕元の飾り棚には、染め糸の色がほのかに灯ります。洗面は、昼間もあえてあかりを落とした設え。ほの暗い陰影のなかに小鹿田焼の鉢が浮かぶ、少し大人の空間です。地元の杉の香りに包まれてやすらぐ、現代的なしつらえの間。
A plush futon rests on a raised platform of local Hita cedar, with dyed-silk spools glowing softly in the bedside niche. The washroom is kept deliberately dim even by day — a quiet, grown-up play of shadow and light around the Onta-ware basin. A contemporary room wrapped in the scent of local cedar.

工房には、ショップを兼ねた常設ギャラリーを併設しています。この工房で染め、織り上げたストールや小物が、あたたかな木の壁にゆったりと並ぶ空間。ぜひ手に取り、羽織って、絹の艶と手織りの風合いを確かめてください。
工房とギャラリーの見学は無料です。ご宿泊やワークショップのご予定がなくても、旅の途中にふらりとお立ち寄りください。機の音と糸の色が、みなさまをお迎えします。
The atelier houses a permanent gallery and shop, where stoles and small goods dyed and woven here hang against warm wooden walls. Please pick them up, try them on, and feel the luster of silk and the texture of hand-weaving.
Admission to the atelier and gallery is free — no stay or workshop booking needed. Drop by on your travels; the sound of the looms and the colors of the threads will welcome you.
